L'Atelier de Joel Robuchon
As one of Paris’ best contemporary French restaurants, securing a highly coveted seat at 2 Michelin-starred master chef Joel Robuchon’s intimate restaurant can be a difficult yet highly rewarding experience. With a strict no-booking policy during peak dining periods, diners from around the world queue in anticipation before every lunch and dinner session. Robuchon’s winning formula of inventive and intricately-crafted gastronomic ‘tastes’ utilise only the finest and freshest ingredients, where u-shaped tables and high stools are positioned around an open kitchen to ensure diners have a front row seat of the kitchen action. Like gastronomic ninjas, black-clad chefs construct tapas-size creations such as crispy langoustines with basil en papillotte, caramelised quail with mashed potato flavoured with white summer truffles, and sublime desserts such as a warm Chartreuse souffle with pistachio ice cream. If you want to be assured of getting a table, then its best to make a reservation either very early or late (after 10pm) in the evening.
