L'Ami Jean

  • French

Oh, what fun you’re going to have here. As one of Paris’ foodie favourite haunts, L’Ami Jean is a riotously fun gourmand dining experience. Tucked away in the backstreets of Paris’ 7th arrondissement, you’d even be forgiven for walking straight by and thinking its just another French bistro with simple, rustic wooden interiors. However, as any in-the-know foodie knows, chef Stephane Jego (of La Regalade fame) is simply a master of incredibly inventive, highly conceptual yet sumptuously delicious French cuisine. With a frequently changing menu and the utmost focus on seasonal ingredients, relish in the pleasures of his chicken egg in a Basque herb stew served chilled with a light tomato jelly; or roasted red mullet with fresh calamari and a spanish green bean salad. His dishes taste as good as they look, with sophisticated yet heart-warming, comforting flavours that will make you want to slowly work your way through the entire menu. The atmosphere is buzzing, boisterous and fun (as is the chef himself), where everybody - the chefs, the staff and the guests - are having a sensational time. The best thing yet is the affordable price tag that comes with the experience. Bookings advised.
