DBGB Kitchen & Bar

  • French

Set within a sleek, modern glass and steel building in the Bowery district, DBGB Kitchen & Bar offers a funky fusion between a French brasserie and an American tavern. Shelves of tableware, tureens, and glasses decorate the dining room; bottles climb to the ceiling above the bar; and glass and mirrored panels are covered with a variety of chef Boulud’s favorite foodie quotes. The house specialty is the homemade sausages, where over 14 different varieties are offered, along with DBGB Kitchen’s premium quality burgers. Choose from the Morbier cheese-covered ‘Frenchie’ option, or the ‘Piggie’ which is coated in jalapeno and pulled pork. Other standout dishes include the Provencal-style chicken breast, the succulent beer-braised carbonnade, and the exquisite fresh oyster and shellfish platters. Decadently delicious desserts run the gamut from chocolate-covered sundaes to cream-filled crepes and profiteroles. Meals are superbly accompanied by an expertly curated selection of boutique beers, wines and champagnes, and the service is warm and professional. Best yet, the accessibly priced menu at DBGB Kitchen & Bar represents some of the best value in Manhattan. Bookings advised.
